Responsible technology. Measurable progress. Long-term trust.
At Bistech, doing what is right has been part of who we are since 1988. Today, that means reducing our environmental impact, supporting our people and communities, and providing sustainable managed services that help customers make more responsible technology decisions.
Underpinned by our values of excellence, creativity, integrity and community, environmental sustainability is embedded in how we operate, how we support our customers and how we plan for the future. We believe meaningful progress comes from accountability, transparency and continual improvement, not bold claims.
Whether you’re assessing suppliers, responding to stakeholder expectations or looking to reduce the environmental impact of your technology infrastructure, we’re committed to being a trusted partner on the journey.

Our approach
Our sustainability strategy follows a deliberate, evidence-based approach designed to create lasting value for our business, our customers and the wider community.
Learn: We invested in sustainability training, conducted research into industry best practice, reviewed our environmental impacts and established a structured emissions reduction plan. From the outset, our commitment was clear: no greenwashing, only demonstrable progress.
Measure: We established our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions baseline, creating a reliable foundation of sustainability data for future action and reporting. We also achieved ISO 14001 certification, strengthening our environmental performance and commitment to continual improvement.
Improve: We expanded reporting to include Scope 3 emissions, strengthened our ESG framework and introduced new initiatives that support our wider sustainability efforts, reducing environmental impact across our operations and supply chain.
Progress: Today, our focus is on embedding sustainability across the business, supporting customers on their own evolving sustainability journeys, strengthening community impact and driving continuous improvement year after year.

Sustainability through technology
Sustainability isn’t just about reducing environmental impact, it’s about embedding sustainable practices that help business thrive over the long term. Technology plays a vital role in that journey, but we’re honest about the reality: even efficiency gains, including those from AI, can carry their own environmental cost.
At Bistech, we help companies use advanced technology more strategically to improve efficiency, enhance visibility, support flexible ways of working and strengthen operational resilience. The right digital foundations, chosen thoughtfully, can unlock both business and sustainability benefits, including:
- optimising technology environments and business processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste and lower operational costs
- empowering teams with flexible collaboration and communication tools
- using data and AI responsibly to support more informed decision-making, while considering its environmental impact
- building secure, scalable solutions that support long-term resilience while driving growth
Our sustainability governance
As a provider of sustainable managed services, we understand that strong governance is essential across the sector. It ensures sustainability remains embedded within decision-making, supports compliance and enables a proactive approach to managing risks, all while aligning with our wider business objectives.
Our Board provides overall strategic direction and leadership. Responsibility for environmental strategy, policy and objectives is delegated to the Environmental Steering Team, while the Environmental Delivery Team oversees implementation, operational management and reporting.
This governance framework helps us maintain accountability and measurability, while keeping sustainability integrated across the organisation.
Supporting our people
People are central to building a sustainable business. We invest in creating a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace that enables our people to perform at their best. From career development and wellbeing initiatives to diversity and inclusion programmes, we aim to build a culture where everyone feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
Supporting this commitment are initiatives including:
- Disability Confident Employer status
- Mental Health at Work commitment
- Trained Mental Health First Aiders
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion programmes
- Professional development and career progression opportunities
- Benefits that support wellbeing and work-life balance
Our commitment to community
Through the Bistech Community Fund, we support the causes that matter most to our people. Since launching in 2017, the fund has distributed more than £250,000 to over 90 charities, supporting organisations in the UK and around the world.
We also support education partnerships, fundraising initiatives and employee-led community projects that create positive social impact. This includes a long-standing partnership with Bournemouth University, where for more than 10 years, we’ve sponsored annual awards that celebrate outstanding graduates, presented each year at the university’s graduation ceremony.
