The Bistech Buccaneers’ Dragon Boat Race

The Bistech team takes to the lake for Dorset Mind.

On Bank Holiday Monday, the Bistech Buccaneers assembled for our first-ever Dragon Boat Race at the very sunny Sherborne Country Fair.

After an ‘interesting’ first heat, we were given a brief lesson and regrouped, ready to bring our new skills to the water. In true Bistech fashion, our competitive spirit got the better of us and we fought valiantly in the following two races, knocking a whopping 12 seconds off our first time.

Still, it’s really all about the fundraising, and we’re pleased to be donating over £4,000 through the Bistech Community Fund to our chosen charity, Dorset Mind. Every year, Dorset Mind helps over 12,000 people in Dorset with their mental health by providing a range of vital support services for adults and young people[1].
