Established in 1509, Royal Grammar School (RGS) Guildford is an independent private school that supports around 1200 students aged between three and eighteen. With its rich, 500-year heritage, RGS Guildford is an integral part of the local community and prides itself on its strong academic performance, inspirational teachers and collaborative culture.

The challenge

Technology adoption in the education sector has accelerated rapidly over recent years, with internet access and mobile devices now business critical. With that in mind, RGS Guildford wanted to review its strategic IT roadmap and modernise its IT ecosystem, starting with reinforcing its underlying infrastructure.

The solution

Working collaboratively, Bistech designed and implemented a resilient, always-on connectivity solution, supported by proactive monitoring and alerting behind the scenes. Since then, a variety of projects have been delivered as part of a broader roadmap. This includes shifting from an on-premise to a cloud-based voice solution, securing its Microsoft 365 infrastructure and supporting new safeguarding technologies.
